Locals

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Name: Steve Lawrence
Age:49
Location: Exeter
Job: Road Worker
Bike: Ragley Bagger 288

How long have you been riding?
I've been riding about 20 years.

How often do you ride?
I ride up here probably about twice a week.

What Bike are you currently riding and talk us through your set up?
It's got Rockshox Sektor forks with 150mm travel with Deore crankset and mostly a Deore groupset but with some Deore XT bits. I'm running 183mm rotors on the disk brakes and a Crank Brothers Joplin 4 dropper Seatpost. Nothing particularly special on the old girl but it does the job. I also run a semi-slick rear tyre, its been on here about 2 years but its still going strong.

What types of riding do you normally do?
A bit of freeriding and we ride our own trails that we dig up here in the woods.

What was the last new bit of gear on your bike?
The last new bit on here was the forks and that was about 6 months ago.

What are your local trails?
Haldon, Woodbury and Dartmoor I guess.

What's your favourite part on the bike?
I really love the frame. The geometry of the bike is perfect for what I do up here. It's built for blasting fast singletrack and downhilling even though its a hardtail. Its got a 65 degree head angle up front so its nice and slack and is stable at high speeds.

Next upgrade planned for the bike?
Not at the moment really everything is running fine at the moment. I have a set of 7 inch forks I might stick on and have a little bit of fun with. At the moment this set up is perfect for the sort of riding I get up to.

What other bikes do you own?
Yeah I have a Specialized Demo 8 downhill bike. A Rocky Mountain 6 inch travel all mountain bike and an Intense Slopestyle frame that I've broken down and swapped the parts from onto here! I've also got a chopper that I've had for 20 years! haha
